Join the Friends of Dreamland in Doc’s Pool Hall for refreshments, jazz, and a guided tours through Taborian Hall and the Dreamland Ballroom during Juneteenth in Da Rock
Doc’s is a room on the ground floor of the building that faces State St. and opens up to the festivies on 9th St. (east side)
Jazz will be a small group of local artiest from the Swing Band Reunion
Guided Tours at 11:30 AM & 2 PM.

Celebrate the return of Big Band music to Dreamland Ballroom after more than fifty years of silence from this historic and celebrated landmark, where the greatest legends of jazz and blues performed from 1918 to 1968.
Swing Band Reunion, celebrates its 25th year, as an extension of historic Central High School’s Swing Band. SBR has performed at CALS Robinson Theater, numerous retirement communities and churches, for Central High School alumni Tiger Fest, and for the 2024 Arkansas Jazz Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Taborian Hall and it’s Dreamland Ballroom celebrate the 107th anniversary in July of the rebirth and preservation of this iconic structure in downtown Little Rock. (Add more if needed)
SBR’s performance includes the music from Dreamland Ballroom notable musicians list: Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Etta James, Cab Calloway, Benny Carter, native Arkansan Louis Jordan, and more.



Dunbar Honors Legacy Series
The Dunbar Historic Neighborhood Association is honored to present the Dunbar Honors Legacy Series, a distinguished lecture series dedicated to celebrating the legacies of historical African-American figures who have made significant contributions to our community and beyond. This event will be hosted at the iconic Dreamland Ballroom and will feature two sessions tailored to engage both students and the general public in meaningful discussions about history, resilience, and cultural preservation.
Public lecture starts at 5:30 PM.
