In 1918 the African American community established Taborian Hall as an anchor for the West 9th Street corridor, central to Black culture and business in Little Rock. Mid-century land acquisition for the further construction of I-630 created decline in the area; the hall lay in disrepair until the McCoy family discovered the structure in 1990 and refurbished the space as Dreamland Ballroom. Today, Kerry McCoy joins with Ernest Banks in a unique collaboration to remember this beloved legacy + reimagine its present purpose.
